Our ESG group participated in the Taiwan Sustainable Energy Foundation’s COP28 conference analysis.

Three key points of the COP28 meeting. Sustainability has always been important to our company's mission, and the ESG group continues to pay attention to global sustainable development issues. At the end of 2023, the ESG group participated in the Taiwan Sustainable Energy Foundation’s COP28 conference analysis. I would like to share with you the three major highlights of this conference and the Taiwan government’s response to the COP28 conclusions. 

In 2030, triple the global renewable energy capacity to the current level and double the global energy efficiency improvement rate from about 2% to more than 4% per year. Transform the energy system away from fossil fuels to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. 

Other initiative highlights: The resolution of the Methane Emissions, Loss and Damage Reduction Fund was passed, and the Global Refrigeration Action promised that the Taiwan government will continue to accelerate the net-zero transformation and key strategies, increase renewable energy, reduce the use of fossil energy, and develop other related new energy and low-carbon technologies . In addition, in the air-conditioning/air-conditioning section, energy-saving strategies will be promoted to promote energy efficiency and energy demand management in relevant departments. Finally, promote the sub-laws related to the carbon fee system and improve the management of carbon reduction mechanisms.

The event is intended for governments to agree on policies to limit global temperature rises and adapt to impacts associated with climate change.
