Academic Work Study at JPG Southend

Felicity ‘Flick’ Houston, (JPG Artworker, pictured middle) has just finished two weeks of a mentorship program for two work experience students, Joshua McGrath (Year 10 Greensward Academy, pictured right) & Beau Foley (Year 11 Anglo European School, pictured left).
They had a 2 week plan set out for when they arrived, part of this plan was to research the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods retail world and pick a type & tier of supermarket to design and artwork a company logo for. They then had to chose a country to design a range of ready meals, side starters, desserts artworks etc… They chose to base their range on food of America.
Along with this they had an induction into each of the different departments here at JPG Southend (Pre Production, Studio Management, Artwork, QC, Repro, Retouching and Print Quality Management). They also learnt how to use the daily tools we use in everyday studio life. The visiting teacher from Josh's school kindly commented “In the 16 years I have been doing this, this is the best work experience I have ever seen".
Well done Flick & everyone involved.
